A new year—it always feels so euphoric. A new cycle, new opportunities, new goals, new desires, and of course, enjoying all the gardening seasons again. In the coming year, I'm going to spread my love for the garden even more, seeing gardening not as a chore, but as a way to relax and take that well-deserved break.
I always start a new year by carefully considering my wishes and desires for that year, and I enjoy visualizing this in the form of a mood board. For example, I've printed "playing with nature" in large letters on my mood board for the coming year, which is precisely the new definition I want to give to the word 'gardening.'
See your garden as a dream world, your dream world!

When it comes to the garden, the term "low-maintenance" comes up often, because we already have so much to do, and I don't have time to work in the garden. Personally, I see gardening more as a form of self-care. No matter how stressed and busy I am, as soon as I'm in the garden and digging in the soil with my hands, I lose track of time, the to-do list falls off my shoulders, and my mouth curls into a small smile. For me, it's truly a way to relax and marvel at all the beauty Mother Nature has to offer.
I have to admit, it wasn't always this way. I was quickly tempted to focus on the gardening chores that still needed to be done. Another addition to my to-do list that I really felt compelled to do, and so it became another task that left me feeling stressed rather than relaxed.
I've since learned and accepted that things can't always be perfect. I love nothing more than creating a new garden plan, filled with beautiful flowers and different color combinations. Starting a new year enthusiastically, planning the garden for the coming seasons, a year filled with flowers. But no matter how beautifully your plan is executed, nature ultimately takes its course, and it's quite possible that something won't emerge, or a flower you never planted will emerge. It's precisely those little surprises that keep you wondering—and dreaming about how you can make it even more beautiful next time.
Think of your garden as a dream world, your dream world, where you can do whatever you want and make it as beautiful as you imagine. You can never predict the outcome of your dreams, but you can certainly trust that nature will amaze you.
