Why you want Tree lily Honeymoon in your garden
Honeymoon Lilium. Romantic soft yellow petals are arranged in a gigantic flower, held aloft on a sturdy 2-meter-high stem with dozens of flowers. Lilium 'Honeymoon', the name alone speaks volumes; the fragrance sensation is yet to come.
Tree lilies in the summer garden
The term "Tree Lilies" originated from the height of their flowers, which can reach a height of 2 meters. So, it's not a tree, and the flowers don't grow up a tree either. These tall lilies bloom for about five weeks in the summer, starting in early July. The flowering period can easily be extended by planting several varieties together in a group. Combine the soft yellow with the intense pink of the Lilium Rio Negro or choose the white version Lilium White World. Each lily variety has its own flowering time. By combining different varieties, you can extend the flowering time to about 7 weeks.
Tree lilies are also called Giant lilies
Tree lilies are also called giant lilies because of their extreme height of 2 meters. Their height makes them perfect for adding structure to the garden. Plant the lily bulbs at the back of the garden, for example, or let them grow against a fence.
Plant the lily bulbs in groups
Tall flowers are simply more sensitive to weather conditions like wind and rain. To prevent these large lilies from falling over, we recommend planting lily bulbs in groups of at least three. By planting the bulbs close together, 10 to 15 cm apart, they will support each other, making them much more stable. If you have a very windy garden, we recommend using a flower support.
Tip from The Blooming Company: Cut a flower and place it in a vase indoors. This way, you can enjoy the wonderful fragrance both indoors and outdoors.
