Dahlia 'Apricot Desire' – an apricot-colored dream
The Dahlia 'Apricot Desire' is a beautiful water lily dahlia that transforms your garden into a place of wonder. Its soft apricot and peach tones radiate warmth and tranquility. The flowers are 10 to 15 centimeters across and bloom from July until the first frost. On sturdy stems 90 to 120 centimeters tall, they tower beautifully above the fresh green foliage.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Apricot Desire' is known for its abundant and long blooms. The more often you prune it, the more flowers it produces. This way, you can enjoy a garden full of soft, apricot-colored flowers for months to come. The wide, flat petals point slightly upward, giving the plant its characteristic water lily shape. Thanks to its strong stems, this dahlia is also a popular cut flower, adding a romantic touch to any bouquet.
Location and care
This dahlia loves a sunny spot and well-drained, fertile soil. Plant the tubers in spring 30 to 50 centimeters apart and cover them with a few centimeters of soil. Make sure the old stem is just above the soil surface. Water regularly, especially during dry summers.
After flowering, you can dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, so you can enjoy them again next season. In a mild winter, you can leave the tubers in the ground and cover the soil with a thick layer of straw.
