Dahlia 'Babylon Bronze' is a beautiful dinner-plate dahlia with soft, slightly ruffled petals in a warm color palette of bronze mixed with an apricot-coral hue. The flowers reach a diameter of approximately 25 cm and are beautifully upward-facing on sturdy stems of about 120 cm tall. This combination makes it a romantic yet playful addition to the border and a perfect cut flower.
Flowering and growth
This dahlia blooms profusely from July to November and returns annually with its magnificent display of flowers. The large, double flowers, thanks to their sturdy stems, remain upright even in rain. Regularly prune cut flowers for your vase; the more often you prune, the more abundant the blooms.
Location and care
Dahlia 'Babylon Bronze' thrives in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained, fertile soil. Water regularly during dry spells and keep the soil moist, but avoid soggy feet. After flowering, dig up the tubers for the winter or, in mild winters, leave them in the ground, providing ample protection with a layer of straw.
