The Dahlia 'Burlesca' is one of the most beautiful pompom dahlias. Its flowers are small, round, and perfectly formed. At about 5 cm in diameter, it may seem modest, but it actually creates a playful contrast with other larger dahlia flowers. They open in an old rose with shades of peach and apricot pink. The older the flower, the lighter and warmer the color becomes.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Burlesca' blooms profusely from summer until the first frost. It produces an endless number of flowers, and the more you prune it, the more it will bloom. The pompoms dance above the leaves on sturdy stems, undisturbed even by a summer breeze. It stays beautiful in a vase for a long time, and its small, compact flowers make it perfect for bouquets.
Location and care
This dahlia loves a sunny spot and thrives in well-drained, fertile soil. Plant its tubers in spring, a few centimeters deep and with some space between them. Water regularly during dry spells and cut off dead flowers to encourage repeat blooms. In winter, dig up the tubers and store them frost-free, or protect them in the ground with a thick layer of straw.
