The Dahlia 'Caitlin's Joy' never bores. Its perfectly round, 8- to 10-cm-long ball-shaped flowers open in a warm coral pink with a hint of apricot. As the flower matures, the tones soften, transforming into a lighter peach. This playful color palette makes it a wonderful starting point for creating your perfect dahlia combination.
Flowering and growth
'Caitlin's Joy' blooms profusely and for a long time, from midsummer until the first frost. It grows to about 90 centimeters tall and stands firmly on its stems, ensuring the flowers remain upright even after a rain shower or summer wind. It's a very productive variety: the more often you cut flowers, the more buds will return. It also holds its shape well in a vase, making it a popular cut flower.
Location and care
Plant the tuber in a sunny spot in well-drained, fertile soil. Plant the tubers a few centimeters deep in spring and give them plenty of room to develop. Regular watering and removing spent flowers will ensure longer blooms. You can dig up the tubers in winter and store them frost-free, or protect them with mulch in mild winters.
