The Dahlia 'Copperboy' is a dahlia that instantly adds warmth to your garden. Its flowers are perfectly round and about 12 centimeters across. The color is unique: a mix of copper, bronze, deep red, and a hint of raspberry. Depending on the light, you'll see a different hue every time. The dark stems and leaves create an extra strong contrast, making the flowers stand out even more.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Copperboy' is an early bloomer and continues to produce flowers throughout summer and late summer. The plants are prolific and produce many buds, so you'll see new flowers appear again and again. Thanks to their sturdy stems, the flowers stay upright and are ideal for cutting into a vase.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny spot. Plant them a few centimeters deep and give the plants plenty of room to develop. Water regularly during dry spells and remove spent flowers to encourage flowering. In winter, you can dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, or protect them with a layer of straw during mild winters.
