Dahlia 'Crazy Legs' – playful two-tone flowers with a twist
Dahlia 'Crazy Legs' lives up to its name. Its flowers, approximately 10 cm across, are anything but ordinary. The petals have a warm apricot-orange front, while the back is a darker pinkish-purple. This two-tone effect gives the flower depth and makes it a standout in the garden and in a bouquet.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Crazy Legs' is a tall, productive plant that produces an abundance of flowers all summer long. The medium-sized flowers have a playful, star-like shape and slightly curled petals. The sturdy, long stems make it ideal as a cut flower. Moreover, it blooms continuously until the first frost, so you can enjoy it for months.
Location and care
Plant the corms after the last frost in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny spot. Plant them 10 cm deep and give the plants plenty of space, as they grow to about 120–140 cm tall. Provide water during dry spells and remove spent flowers to encourage continued bud growth. Dig up the corms in winter and store them frost-free, or protect them with mulch in mild winters.
