Dahlia 'Daisy Duke' – a beautiful mix of salmon, peach and coral
The Dahlia 'Daisy Duke' can't be defined by just one color. Its flowers are a blend of salmon, peach, and coral pink, with a hint of dark plum at the center. A rich and warm color palette, not too bright and not too sweet. It's precisely that subtle interplay of colors that makes it one of my favorites, and it combines beautifully with other dahlia varieties.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Daisy Duke' produces a constant stream of flowers from summer until the first frost. The medium-sized, ball-shaped flowers are about 12cm in diameter and stand firmly on short, strong stems. At a height of around 80cm, it's perfect for borders, and because the leaves grow all the way down the stem, the plant has a nice, compact appearance. The more often you prune, the more new buds it produces.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny spot. Plant them about 10 cm deep and give them 40 cm of space to develop well. Regular watering during dry periods and removing spent flowers will encourage flowering. In winter, you can dig up the tubers and store them frost-free, or protect them with a layer of mulch during mild winters.

'Daisy Duke' combines beautifully with other warm shades like apricot and salmon, but also looks great next to dark dahlias, which make its soft colors stand out even more. I personally particularly like the combination with the pompom Dahlia Rocco .
