Dahlia 'Dutch Pearl' – apricot pink with a soft mauve glow
Dahlia 'Dutch Pearl' is a dahlia that radiates with its subtle, warm color palette. Its petals are a soft apricot pink, with pink brushstrokes and a hint of yellow that gives it a warm glow. In sunlight, it takes on a light mauve hue, giving it a constantly changing appearance. It's a flower that looks soft and dreamy, yet is also durable enough to shine all summer long, right up to the first frost.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Dutch Pearl' is a prolific bloomer with medium-sized flowers of about 12 cm. They grow on long, sturdy stems, perfect for use as a cut flower. The more often you pick them, the more new buds they form. The plant itself has fresh, dark green foliage, and the flowers are beautifully upward-facing, protruding above the foliage and making them a lovely addition to a bouquet.
Location and care
After the last frost, plant the tubers in a sunny spot in well-drained, fertile soil. Plant the tubers a few centimeters deep and give them plenty of space. Additional watering during dry periods helps maintain abundant flowering. Remove dead flowers to encourage production. In winter, dig up the tubers and store them frost-free, or protect them with mulch in mild winters.
