Dahlia 'Fancy Pants' – graceful pink and bee-friendly
Dahlia 'Fancy Pants' lives up to its name: elegant and playful at the same time. Its petals are a soft pink, slightly twisted, and form a star-like bloom with a warm golden-yellow center. With an average height of 80 cm, it's perfect for a spot at the front of a border or in a large pot on the patio. And if that weren't enough, it also produces abundant nectar, a real treat for bees and butterflies.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Fancy Pants' blooms from summer until the first frost, producing a constant stream of flowers about 10 cm across. Its flowers have a playful shape thanks to the elegantly folded petals. Its slender yet strong stems make it a beautiful addition to both the garden and a vase. Because the plant remains compact, it's ideal for a smaller garden or in a flowerpot.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny spot. Plant them about 10 cm deep and provide plenty of water during dry spells. Regularly removing spent flowers will help the plant continue to produce new buds. You can dig up the tubers in winter and store them frost-free, or protect them with mulch during mild winters.
