Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Happy Butterfly' blooms from summer until the first frost, producing flowers about 15 cm wide. The plants grow tall and sturdy, with stems that proudly hold the flowers aloft. This makes it not only suitable for borders but also a lovely cut flower. The more often you cut the flowers, the more new buds will appear, so you can enjoy them all summer long.
Location and care
After the last frost, plant the tubers in a sunny spot in well-drained, fertile soil. Plant them a few centimeters deep and provide extra water during dry spells. Removing spent flowers encourages the plant to produce new flowers. You can dig up the tubers in winter and store them frost-free, or protect them with a layer of mulch during mild winters.
