Dahlia 'Henriette' – playful cactus flower in soft salmon tones
Dahlia 'Henriette' produces an abundance of flowers. I love the cactus-shaped petals and the delicate, soft color palette. The flowers are about 15 cm in diameter and a surprising play of colors that changes as the flower ages. A warm salmon color appears at the center, subtly fading into a light apricot hue toward the edges.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Henriette' is a prolific dahlia that blooms all summer long, until the first frost. New flowers continually appear on its sturdy, dark stems, keeping your garden full of life. They're real eye-catchers in the garden, but also make durable cut flowers that last a long time in a vase.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny spot. Plant them a few centimeters deep and give the plants plenty of room to spread. During dry spells, extra watering is important. Removing spent flowers encourages the plant to produce new buds. In winter, you can dig up the tubers and store them frost-free, or protect them with a layer of straw in milder winters.
