Dahlia 'Hillcrest Suffusion' – peachy pink with a gold center
Dahlia 'Hillcrest Suffusion' has a color that defies simple description. Its ball-shaped flowers are a mix of mango, coral, and peach tones, with a bright yellow center. Sometimes it leans more towards pink, allowing you to discover a different shade throughout the summer. With a flower diameter of about 12 cm and a height of about 100 cm, it fits perfectly in the middle of a border, but also thrives in a large pot.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Hillcrest Suffusion' blooms from summer until the first frost and continues to produce flowers. These compact plants carry their flowers on long, sturdy stems, making them ideal as cut flowers. The flowers last a long time in the vase, and regular picking encourages the plant to produce new buds. A prolific variety.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in well-drained, fertile soil. They prefer a sunny spot, but can also tolerate light shade. In fact, their colors sometimes appear even more intense in partial shade. Water during dry spells and remove spent flowers to prolong flowering. In winter, dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, or protect them with mulch.
