Why you want Dahlia Ice tea in your garden
Dahlia 'Iced Tea' – warm amber color with a raspberry pink glow
Dahlia 'Iced Tea' is high on my personal favorites list. This is due to its unique color, which is almost impossible to capture in a single word. Think of a mix of raspberry pink, peach, and a hint of bronze, with the warm amber of iced tea bringing it all together. Depending on the light and the timing of the bloom, you'll see a slightly different shade each time. A flower that surprises you again and again.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Iced Tea' blooms all summer long until the first frost, producing an abundance of flowers about 10 cm across. The plants grow up to 120 cm tall and carry their flowers firmly on long stems. Ideal for frequent cutting for a vase, because the more you cut, the more flowers you'll get.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny spot. Water regularly during dry spells and remove spent flowers to encourage flowering. In winter, you can dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, or protect them well with mulch.
Why choose Dahlia 'Iced Tea'?
Because it adds just that touch of warmth and depth that completes your garden or bouquet. Its color is versatile and combines easily with both soft pastels and deeper shades. It's also a robust cut flower with long stems and a reliable bloomer.
Combination tip
I personally like the combination of 'Iced Tea' with Dahlia Babylon Bronze , but it also goes well with lighter varieties such as Dahlia Honey Dew for a softer look.
