Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Joel's Favorite' is a prolific, early-flowering variety that's often one of the first dahlias to bloom. It blooms profusely from summer until the first frost. Thanks to its long, sturdy stems, the flowers are easy to cut, and the more often you do this, the more new buds will appear.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in well-drained soil and choose a sunny spot. During dry spells, provide extra water and remove spent flowers to prolong flowering. In winter, it's best to dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, or in mild winters, cover the soil well with a generous layer of straw.
