Dahlia 'Marshmallow Baby' – The perfect pink ball dahlia
Dahlia 'Marshmallow Baby' sounds like a delicious sweet treat, and it looks just like one. Its round flowers, about 10 cm across, look like candy: soft pink at the center, lighter toward the edges, and so perfectly formed you'll hardly believe they're real. It's a ball dahlia that blooms continuously, and its long, sturdy stems make it ideal for both cutting gardens and vases.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Marshmallow Baby' blooms from summer until the first frost, producing an abundance of neatly rounded, full-bodied flowers. The plants grow to about 100 cm tall and produce long stems that hold the flowers beautifully high. The more you pick, the more abundantly they will continue to bloom.
Location and care
After the last frost, plant the tubers in sunny, well-drained soil. They grow best when they get plenty of sun and are watered regularly during dry weeks. Cutting off spent flowers encourages the plant to produce new buds. In winter, dig up the tubers to store them frost-free, or protect them with mulch during mild winters.
