Dahlia 'Sefton Silvertop' – soft pink with a silver glow
Dahlia 'Sefton Silvertop' is a dahlia that defies simple color descriptions, and we love that! In early summer, the first compact flowers appear in soft cream and blush pink shades. As the season progresses, the petals develop a subtle silver sheen. As the flower matures, the pink edges darken, which, combined with the silver sheen, creates a striking contrast.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Sefton Silvertop' is one of the smaller, decorative dahlias with flowers of about 8 cm. Despite its modest size, it blooms profusely and continuously from mid-summer until the first frost. The plants grow to about 110 cm tall and produce sturdy, long stems that are ideal for cutting. The more often you cut flowers, the more new buds will appear, allowing you to enjoy its soft colors all summer and into autumn.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in loose, fertile soil in a sunny spot. During dry weeks, provide some extra water to maintain flowering. Removing spent flowers extends the flowering period and encourages new blooms. In winter, you can dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, or protect them with a thick layer of mulch in mild winters.
