Dahlia 'Skyfall' – a purple collarette dahlia full of nectar
Dahlia 'Skyfall' attracts many pollinators to your garden with its open heart, a trait that is becoming increasingly important. We all want to enjoy beautiful flowers, but I also believe it's crucial to contribute to nature. The purple petals have a beautiful color gradient from light to dark, giving the flowers a playful appearance and creating depth.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Skyfall' blooms from summer until the first frost with medium-sized flowers about 10cm across. The outer petals are bright purple, lightening towards the edges, while the center remains dark and contrasting. The plants grow to about 90cm tall and branch well, constantly producing new buds. Perfect for both borders and large pots.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in a sunny or partially shaded spot in loose, well-drained soil. Water them extra during dry weeks and regularly remove spent flowers to prolong flowering. In winter, dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free location, or cover them with a thick layer of mulch in mild winters.
