Dahlia 'Sweet Sanne' changes color during bloom, and I love it! Initially, the flower is a soft apricot and peach color with a beautiful plum sheen. As the flower ages, the plum color fades to a light lilac glow.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Sweet Sanne' blooms profusely from summer until the first frost. The flowers grow to about 13 cm across and stand tall on upright stems of 120 cm. This makes it not only beautiful in the border but also ideal as a cut flower. The more flowers you cut off, the more new buds the plant will continue to produce.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in a sunny spot with loose, fertile soil. During warm, dry weeks, provide some extra water. Regularly removing spent flowers will ensure continued flowering. In winter, dig up the tubers and store them frost-free, or protect them with a thick layer of mulch.
