Tulip bulbs

Tulips: the most famous flower in bulb country and a quintessential Dutch attraction. Every year, tulip bulbs bring us these beloved flowers with their cheerful red, pink, and yellow colors, creating a breathtaking spring landscape.

Tulip bulb brightens up any garden

What could be more wonderful than seeing your garden transform into a colorful field of flowers in spring? Tulip bulbs are happy to contribute to this, brightening up any garden, lawn, flower box, or balcony. Together with daffodils, hyacinths, grape hyacinths, and other spring bloomers, tulip bulbs make every spring announcement a celebration.

Flower bulbs with tulips

Flowering tulip bulbs, with their sunny colors, are real garden ornaments; they'll brighten your day! The Blooming Company offers several varieties of tulip bulbs. Tulip bulbs are available as annuals and perennials, and there are also low-growing and tall varieties. There are also single and double tulips, single- or multi-colored flowers, and fringed varieties. Do you have questions about the various varieties? We're happy to explain the differences between tulip bulbs.

Bulbs for tulips in a beautiful bouquet

Have the bulbs produced beautiful tulips? Then you're probably eager to create a lovely bouquet to give as a gift or to brighten up your own living room. The only annoying thing is that tulips can easily droop if you don't care for them properly. There are a few simple tricks to prevent this. Always cut the stems straight across and place them in cold water. Poke a hole in the stem with a pin just below the flower and don't place them in direct sunlight or near fruit. This will make them grow extra fast. A little too late? Then cut a piece off the stems and place them wrapped in newspaper in a vase with a layer of cold water overnight. A real boost!

Tulip flower bulbs, quintessential Dutch?

Did you know that the quintessential Dutch tulip bulbs don't actually originate in the Netherlands at all? Most tulips come from Central Asia, where winters and springs are cold and summers are hot and dry. Fortunately, they thrive in our climate as well. In the garden, you can plant tulip bulbs between September and December. Dig holes about 10 centimeters deep and plant the flowers not too far apart, so that when the tulip bulbs emerge, you'll have a beautiful, full tulip bed. Water the bulbs generously after planting, as they need extra water during long, dry winter spells when there's no rain or snow. And then the anticipation of spring begins! At The Blooming Company, we've been selling the highest quality flower bulbs for years, and you can order them online. Have any questions? Don't hesitate to contact us!
